The Delta Police Department's values and practices are to protect constitutional rights, apply the law fairly and consistently, and to serve as examples to all.

Mission Statement

Maintaining quality of life in the community, while continuing to respect individual liberties and personal dignity, will be the benchmark used to gauge our success in the delivery of law enforcement services. Remaining mindful of the people’s will and continuing to be responsive to the community’s needs will be the standards that our performance is measured against.

The elimination of criminal activity as it affects quality of life is our mission, and it will continue to be so, as long as crime deprives citizens of the right to feel secure in their homes and in their lives. The delivery of timely and courteous quality services is the mandate to all men and women of the Delta Police Department, always without the use of unnecessary force, and with the intent of solving criminal issues for the citizens who call on us for assistance.

Our pledge is to embrace the community in solving problems, and in doing so, to solicit their input and ideas, with the ultimate goal being open communications and positive relations between the community and law enforcement professionals that serve the community, so that problem solving becomes the cooperative effort that it must certainly be.
