Code Enforcement Officer

The City of Delta has an opening for a Code Enforcement Officer. Under direct supervision of Community Development Director, will perform work in the enforcement of ordinances relating to public nuisances, property maintenance, signs and parking; makes site inspections; issues violation notices, maintains records and appears in court.   Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school; public speaking experience preferred.  Special requirements are must possess a valid driver’s license; must successfully pass a background check, required pre-employment drug test and physical exam. (Authorization form for background check to be completed on application.) The City of Delta is accepting applications for Police Officer.  Patrols an assigned beat in the enforcement of law and order and prevention of crime; takes intensive field and basic training in the early period of employment.  Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school.  Necessary special requirements are: possess a valid Colorado driver’s license; State certified or certifiable in law enforcement; certain certifications and standards must be achieved and maintained according to departmental policies and law; must be 21 years of age or over at time of hire;  a written and physical agility tests must be passed prior to an oral interview; will be required to pass a detailed background and criminal record check, a psychological exam, pre-employment drug test and physical exam.  2008 starting salary is $18.01/hour plus an excellent benefit package; laterals will be considered.  Original City employment applications and completed authorization form for background check must submitted to Human Resources, City of Delta, 360 Main St., Delta, Co 81416.  Must be received by Tuesday, May 20, 2008.  Applications available at same or on City webpage www.delta-co.gov.  Responses received after deadline or incomplete are not eligible for consideration.  EOE/MF.

Municipal Service Worker I

The City of Delta is accepting applications for a new position of Municipal Service Worker I working in wastewater and wastewater plant; under direct supervision performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in construction and maintenance of sewer system and wastewater treatment plan, drives truck and operates light equipment incidental to the work.  Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with some experience as a laborer.  License in wastewater desirable.  Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License, and will be required to successfully pass required physical exam, pre-employment drug test and background check (authorization for background check form to be completed on last page of application).  Position is full-time with starting salary of $13.39/hour and excellent benefit package.  If interested submit completed City of Delta employment application and submit to HR, City of Delta, 360 Main, Delta, Co 81416 by Friday, May 16, 2008.   Applications available at same or web page www.delta-co.gov.
