City Clerk

The City Clerk’s primary functions are as custodian of the City’s official records, Clerk to the City Council, liquor and special events licensing, cemetery administration, codification of the Delta City Code, administration of City elections, and as contact person for the City’s liability/property casualty and workers compensation insurance.

Custodian of the City's Records

As records custodian, the Clerk facilitates citizen requests for information contained in the City's official records pursuant to the City's Policy Concerning Access to Public Records PDF (14 Kb).

Cemetery Administration

The City Clerk maintains the records of the Delta City Cemetery located at 1055 E. 3rd Street. City cemetery records can also be found at www.findagrave.com.

Administration of City Elections

Register to vote at City elections at the Delta County Clerk and Recorder's Office at 501 Palmer Street in Delta.

City Council Election Information

Persons wishing to run for these positions must meet the following criteria:

  • must be a U. S. citizen;
  • must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the election;
  • must have resided continuously in the City of Delta for a period of at least twelve consecutive months prior to their election; or if recently annexed, must have resided within the territory annexed for the prescribed twelve consecutive months;
  • must be a registered elector;
  • District A and B candidates must reside within the district from which they seek election;
  • At-Large candidates may reside anywhere within the City.
