The following are the holidays the city observes, and the dates these holidays will be scheduled for 2009.

New Year's Day—Thursday, January 1
President's Day—Monday, February 16
Memorial Day—Monday, May 26
Independence Day—Friday, July 3 *
Labor Day—Monday, September 7
Columbus Day—Monday, October 12
Veteran's Day—Wednesday, November 11
Thanksgiving—Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27
Christmas—Friday, December 25

*Note: If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the city will observe Friday before as the holiday, and if the holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed.
